Subject: We've had enough.
Good day.
After the recent Skill Note Revamp update, I for one, am sick and tired of this treatment you have been giving the non-korean versions of Elsword. You may not realize this, but we do in fact have quite a few members in the community with access to the korean version of the game, and the website elwiki.net documents the changes between versions for those that do not. We know of all the completely nonsensical changes you have made to game content for all of the non-korean versions. These changes accomplish nothing other than to infuriate us and turn us away from the game. I cannot in good conscience support a company that treats me like trash any longer. And I am sure I am not alone in this sentiment.
Here are the specific problems with the game that need to be fixed:
-The EXP tables
Although they were reduced for us a few months ago, they are still inflated in our version of the game for no good reason.
elwiki.net/w/Exp_Table
Here are the EXP tables for all the versions. As you can see, the korean version has significantly lower requirements for the next level than the non-korean versions. And these gaps get pretty big fast starting at level 46.
The EXP requirement for 69-70 is boosted by around 1.7 times the korean requirement for the other versions. Dragging out the leveling experience does not in any way improve the game, it makes it more tedious. Players do not just up and get bored with the game when they hit the level cap as you seem to believe. They are however, less willing to make new characters because getting their first to the level cap was so tedious and that they do not desire to go through that again, and that will lead to players getting bored with the game faster. And thus, the players are less willing to spend money on multiple characters. You are cutting into your own profits with such nonsensical practices. Inflating the EXP tables benefits no one. Not us, and most certainly not you.
-Stamina
It is well known why the Stamina system exists: Because the South Korean government has passed laws to combat "gaming addiction". However, we are not South Korea. There is no reason why we should be subject to this system. Not when we have inflated EXP tables already artificially lengthening the game. And especially not when it is well documented that the korean version of the game does in fact, have plenty of loopholes around it.
The Mentoring System and Field Boss Cubes are two ways in which the players of the korean version of the game, even foreigners, can play the game completely restricted as they give out many Stamina Potions. Yet, the Mentoring System is removed from our version of the game, and Stamina Potions are removed from the list of possible items obtainable by Field Boss Cubes.
You are punishing us for South Korean laws that do not even affect the players of the korean version of the game for no good reason. This does not benefit you in the least. It does in fact, hurt the sales of your EXP Boost Medal Item Mall items because no one is going to buy a time limited item that they cannot even get the most use out of because the game restricts how many stages they can run a day. And the Hero Coin exchange system that gives out Stamina Potions is hardly a satisfactory solution as the random nature of prizes for turning in coins tends to not give them out that often, and even getting the coins can consume more Stamina than what the potions even restore depending on stage.
Furthermore, it should be noted that Elsword is the only game brought to the west from South Korea that does actually have its Stamina system retained in the western versions. All the other games from these games outright remove their equivalent systems from western releases. And because of this, many people on gaming message boards have said that they refuse to touch Elsword because of the Stamina system. Players do not like having their gameplay restricted. Especially when so many non-MMO video games have no such system.
Unlimited Stamina on weekends is also a non-satisfactory solution for multiple reasons. The main one being that not all players are free on the weekends to get to make use of it.
The Stamina system should be removed from our version of the game, or at the very least, we should be given the Mentoring system and Stamina Potions from Field Boss Cubes so we have the exact same ways to get around it players of the korean version do.
-Gate of Darkness
This is honestly one of the more baffling cases of changes made to the game for non-korean versions. It is well documented that the korean version of the game rewards successful Gate of Darkness runs with crafting materials, which can be used to craft accessories and elixirs. However, in our version, we are rewarded only with a single box. This box can be opened for a random reward, and many of them are useless compared to what players even run the stage to hope to obtain: the wyvern accessories and elixirs which can be obtained only through Gate of Darkness.
This change is completely nonsensical, benefits you in no way as the Item Mall in no way has any bearing on anything related to Gate of Darkness, and only serves to infuriate players and even outright cause many to completely ignore Gate of Darkness. There is no reason why we should not have the same crafting system the korean version has.
-Secret Dungeon and Henir's Time and Space revamp exchange events
The korean version of the game has gotten exchange events at the time of the Secret Dungeon revamp and the Henir's Time and Space revamp. These events allowed players to exchange hard earned gear obtained from the older versions of the dungeons for materials to help us along the way to crafting the newer, updated equipment. However, we did not get the exchange for the Secret Dungeon equipment, and although we did eventually get the Henir's Time and Space exchange, it was handled very poorly, and did not even include the option to exchange already crafted gear for newer gear as the korean version did. Only the molds.
This is a huge slap in the face. It effectively makes the effort we put into crafting the gear worthless. Crafting Secret Dungeon and especially Henir's Time and Space gear is by no means a short ride. It is a process that takes weeks, even months. Under the new Henir's Time and Space revamp, it takes more than a month to get a fully upgraded weapon alone. Getting the rest of the set makes things take even longer.
Why are we denied the option that players of the korean version had? Why do we not deserve these same opportunities? Once again, the Item Mall has no bearing on anything related to obtaining Secret Dungeon or Henir's Time and Space gear. Letting us craft the equipment faster does not cut into your profits, but making players furious by denying us these exchanges does.
-Skill Notes now only being available in the Item Mall
It is well documented that when the korean version got the same update our version just got, that all Skill Notes were added as dungeon drops. Including ones that were previously Item Mall only and new ones from the update.
However, you took this in the opposite direction for our version of the game: You made it to where Skill Notes no longer drop in dungeons, even ones that previously dropped in dungeons, and made all Skill Notes only available through the Item Mall.
This really hurts your image. This makes the game more "pay2win" than it already was. This has made many players very angry. And this certainly won't get you more profit the way you hope it does. Not in the long term at least. Players are less likely to support companies they view as greedy.
And with that, I say enough is enough. We are sick of being treated like trash compared to korean players even though we are playing the same game. We are sick of receiving watered down versions of content for the same game simply because we were not born in South Korea.
I ask for the same treatment the korean players get in regards to the game content its self. I am not going as far as to also demand the same events the korean version get, although they tend to be more generous than the ones we get. But that our base game experience is the same, and not watered down. I am fed up with being treated like a second class citizen, and if you continue to see it fit to treat me as such, I can always take my business elsewhere. Elsword is not the only korean MMO available to me, and none of the other games have such drastic changes made to them for their equivalent version from the korean version that worsen the game experience.
-An irritated player.
